Gifts to Sudan

Give a gift to a family in Sudan

Every unit that reaches our wallet becomes food and household things for a family, bought in Sudan and given as a gift. Choose one of the two ways below. Please read the network line carefully: it is the one thing that can go wrong.

USDT on TRON (TRC-20)

Send only USDT on the TRON network (TRC-20). Other coins or networks sent here may be lost for good.

Send only USDC on the Base network. Other coins or networks sent here may be lost for good.

Check my gift

After you send, paste the transaction hash here and tell us who you are and what your gift should become. We check it on the blockchain (we only read, we never sign or move anything), check the sending address against the public OFAC sanctions list of crypto addresses, add it to the ledger and email you a receipt. In public you stay "Anonymous" unless you choose a first name and a volunteer approves it.

About you (private, never shown)

We record each gift with the giver's name, phone and email, so we can send your receipt, tell you when your gift reaches a family, and connect you if you both wish.

What should your gift become?

We honour your choice where we can. Prices and supplies in Sudan change; if we cannot, we tell you and use it where it is most needed.

In the public ledger

Empty = "Anonymous". A first name is shown only after a volunteer approves it. Your full name, phone and email are never shown.

A thank-you from the family (optional)

Contacts are passed on only when both you and the family say yes, by a message from us. The family is asked gently and never pressed. We never share an address or a place. Before any contact or photo passes, a volunteer asks you to show that the gift is yours (for example a screenshot from your wallet or exchange showing the transaction).

In public, only the amount, date, network, transaction link, your gift choice and, once approved, the first name you chose are shown. We do not store your sending address. Something special in mind? Email info@giftstosudan.org.

We never ask for money by WhatsApp, phone or private message. Our only wallet addresses are the ones on this website.

How do I send a crypto gift?

  1. In your wallet or exchange, choose Withdraw or Send.
  2. Pick the coin and the matching network: USDT → TRON (TRC-20), or USDC → Base.
  3. Paste our address. Check that the first and last six characters match this page.
  4. For a large gift, send a small test first and wait until it shows in the ledger.
  5. Send. Keep your transaction link if you would like to find your gift in the ledger.

Who pays the network fee?

When you send, your wallet or exchange charges a small network fee. That fee goes to the network, not to us. Everything that arrives is counted in full, and every fee after that, on our side, is covered by us and shown in the ledger.

What happens next?

  • Your gift appears in the ledger as an IN row: at once if you use "Check my gift", otherwise usually within a few days (we aim for 48 hours).
  • When it is spent, you will see the goods BOUGHT (with a masked receipt) and the gift GIVEN (under a family code).
  • Our aim is to turn money into gifts within 14 days. If it waits longer, the ledger shows how long and why.

Would you like to add a message?

Write to info@giftstosudan.org with your transaction link and, if you like, a short message for a family. A volunteer will copy it by hand onto a card in Arabic: "From a friend in the world: you are not forgotten." In public you stay anonymous unless you chose a first name.

Large gifts, sanctions and safety

  • For gifts over US$1,000, we will ask who you are and where the money comes from. We return large anonymous gifts we cannot verify.
  • Gifts checked here are screened automatically. Every sending address in a gift checked here is matched against the public OFAC SDN list of crypto addresses (our copy is refreshed when it is more than a day old). If the address is on it, or the list cannot be checked, the gift is held for review: it is not shown in the ledger and not spent until a volunteer has decided.
  • People we give to are checked too. Before giving, the volunteers check names against public sanctions lists. We never pay armed groups, "checkpoint fees" or anyone on a sanctions list, and we may return gifts we cannot accept.
  • Blockchains are public: anyone can see the address you sent from. If that matters to you, send from a wallet that does not carry your name.

Is this a registered charity? Is my gift tax-deductible?

No to both, for now. We are a volunteer initiative: not a registered charity, and we hold no licence of any kind. Your gift is not tax-deductible anywhere. If you need a registered charity, our FAQ explains the honest alternatives.

Can I give zakat here?

Not yet. Zakat has its own rules on who receives it and whether it can be given as goods, and the schools of law differ on some of them. For now we accept sadaqah and gifts only. Please ask a scholar you trust about your own zakat.
